After graduating from college, Cindylee joined the Air Force to "see the world" and spent most of her time in the Pacific. While in the Air Force, she found her calling in OB and was sent to midwifery school. During this time, she played an active role in OB clinics. While in the military, she was awarded several honors, including: Productivity Officer of the Year-United States Air Force; Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; and the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Cindylee also invented a surgical instrument with patent for the repair of 4th degree lacerations.
As a CNM, she has always loved teaching, whether with patients, community or staff. While in the Air Force, she was a clinical instructor for various schools of nursing and since living and working in Florida, she has been a preceptor for many CNM students and USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency physicians. Being affiliated with Turley Family Medical Center, she feels she has the best of both worlds - practicing midwifery and teaching. Cindylee is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and was on their Program Committee.
