After graduating from nursing school, Cathy worked at Bayfront Medical Center for five years in St. Petersburg, FL - one year in medical-surgical nursing and four years in labor and delivery. She then graduated from Nurse Midwifery School in 1976, after which she took a job as a certified nurse midwife at Morton Plant Hospital.
She was involved in the education of student nurse midwives from the University of Mississippi, as well as held a position as adjunct clinical faculty for nurse midwifery students from the University of Florida. Cathy has been involved with the USF-MPM Family Medicine Residency since its planning stages and has acted as clinical faculty for the residents during their obstetrics rotations. Cathy's career has been dedicated to the care of women throughout the childbearing cycle and she has a passion for providing care to the underprivileged women of this community. She enjoys patient teaching, especially in the prenatal setting. She is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, the Tampa Bay Chapter of the ACNM and is the current Chairman of the Scholarship Committee for the Tampa Bay Chapter.
Cathy and her husband have four children. They enjoy traveling and have taken some wonderful trips across the U.S. with their children.
