The Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute Breaks Ground for New Facility
01/06/2005

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (January 24, 2003)--- On Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, the Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute will break ground on a new 25,000-square foot facility that will consolidate its programs in Hernando County. The new facility will be located at Grove Road and Gar Street in Brooksville.

"This new facility will provide Hernando County residents with the convenience of a number of our behavioral health programs all under one roof instead of at separate locations in Spring Hill and Brooksville," said Irene Rickus, executive director of The Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute. "For the first time in the county, we will be able to provide indigent, Baker Acted in-patient care for both adults and children, along with a detoxification unit."

The construction of the facility is expected to take a year and upon completion will house a crisis stabilization unit of four adult beds and four pediatric beds, and patients will also be able to access out-patient therapy.

The Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute is dedicated to improving the health of all it serves through community-owned health services that set the standard for high quality, compassionate care. The Harbor offers comprehensive mental health and substance abuse programs in Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas counties.
