Morton Plant Mease Kicks Off Local Red Hot Mamas|
CLEARWATER, Fla., (May 25, 2011) - Morton Plant Mease Women's Services joins the national group, Red Hot Mamas, to raise awareness of women's health in menopausal years. Morton Plant Mease will kick off their local Red Hot Mamas program on Saturday, June 18, 2011. The workshop runs 9 a.m. to noon at Morton Plant Hospital, Tuttle Auditorium, located at 300 Pinellas St., Clearwater. Doors open at 8 a.m. for mingling, shopping, massages and refreshments.
Women can expect a fun-filled, informational workshop focusing on menopause issues such as treating symptoms, tackling midlife weight gain and understanding mind and body approach while moving through menopause. Guest speakers include obstetrics/gynecologist Stephanie Van Zandt, MD, life coach Elizabeth Nelson, MA, and wellness educator Cathleen Shears.
Menopause affects every woman with an estimated 6,500 women entering menopause a day in the United States and we hope with our local program, we shatter the myth that menopause means the end of life is near," said, Marcia Albanese, Morton Plant Mease director of women's and children's services. "The purpose of our local Red Hot Mamas program is to educate women on understanding menopause and empowering women to make better choices for their health, comfort and well-being and to provide a community support group to reach out to."
