Approximately one in ten Americans suffer with diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association. If current obesity trends don't change, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates one in three people will be diagnosed with diabetes in 2050 as a result of poor diet and lack of exercise.

"For people with diabetes, it is especially important to manage the disease with the proper medications, foods and exercise," said Susan Boston, MD, Morton Plant Mease endocrinologist.
