Morton Plant Hospital Echocardiography Laboratory Receives Three Year Re-Accreditation
CLEARWATER, Fla. (June 30, 2010) – The Morton Plant Hospital Echocardiography Laboratory has received a full three year re-accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
The ICAEL, a non-profit organization, was established with the support of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography (SOPE) to provide a peer review mechanism to encourage and recognize the provision of quality echocardiographic diagnostic evaluations by a process of voluntary accreditation.
Morton Plant was granted accreditation after participating in the voluntary process. Accreditation status signifies that the hospital’s echocardiography laboratory has been reviewed by an independent agency which recognizes the laboratory’s commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease. Morton Plant’s laboratory is one of a growing number of echocardiography laboratories to be recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality diagnostic testing.
