During the week long camp in June, seventh and eighth graders will be exposed to health care careers at Camp Nurse Jr. through visits to various hospital departments, and will participate in hands on activities. The camp is held at Mease Dunedin Hosptial and taught by registered nurses from Morton Plant Mease Health Care.
In July, a 2-day camMPMed will introduce boys entering the eighth and ninth grade to health care careers through visits to various hospital departments, and will participate in hands on activities. The camp is held at Morton Plant Hospital and taught by health care professionals from Morton Plant Mease Health Care.
“We have created a curriculum that contains fun, educational activities and opportunities for our campers to get a feel for what a medical career would entail. The goal of the camps is to encourage kids to pursue health care as a profession,” says the camp organizer, Deborah Covert, ARNP.
