North Bay Hospital Appoints ER and Radiology Medical Directors
New Port Richey, Fla. (November 15, 2002)---North Bay Hospital recently appointed Helene Harper, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., as its new emergency department medical director and Mel Stewart Jacoby, M.D., as its new director of radiology.
Dr. Harper is board certified in emergency medicine and is responsible for administration and management of the recently renovated emergency department. Before joining North Bay, she served as medical director of emergency at Town and Country Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Dr. Harper graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry and received her medical degree at the University of Miami. She completed her emergency medicine residency at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
Dr. Jacoby is board certified in radiology and oversees the administration and management of the radiology department. Prior to his appointment, he was a staff radiologist at Park Ridge Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. Dr. Jacoby graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. with a bachelor's degree and received his medical degree at the Chicago Medical School. After his internship at Brookdale University and Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., he trained in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology at McGill Hospitals in Montreal, Canada.
