Morton Plant Mease Health Care Completes Expansion of Bardmoor Outpatient and Surgery Center
02/27/2008

LARGO, Fla., (February 27, 2008) - To continue to meet the growing health care needs of communities within mid-Pinellas County, Morton Plant Mease Health Care has completed the expansion of its Bardmoor Outpatient and Surgery Center with a new 75,000-square-foot medical arts building.

“We have been a part of the mid-Pinellas County community for almost 10 years and in that time our Bardmoor facilities have evolved with the changing needs of this dynamic community,” said Philip K. Beauchamp, F.A.C.H.E., president and chief executive officer, Morton Plant Mease Health Care.

Located at 8839 Bryan Dairy Road in Largo, the new three-story medical arts building is immediately adjacent to the Bardmoor Outpatient and Surgery Center. “Our new medical arts building will give us the opportunity to bring new and expanded services to our patients,” said Beauchamp.

Expanded services will include cardiology, the sleep disorders center will feature two additional patient beds, more specialty and primary care physician offices including specialists in orthopaedics, endocrinology, internal medicine, oncology, general surgery and podiatry. A new community education center will accommodate seminars and groups of up to 100 people.

In addition to the new medical arts building, the project includes the redesign and renovation of approximately 20,000 square feet of current office space within Bardmoor that will bring new physicians to the campus for primary and specialty care. The cost for renovation and new construction is projected to be approximately $13 million. Renovation of the current building is expected to continue into 2008.

Bardmoor Outpatient and Surgery Center opened in 1998 providing services for radiology, laboratory, surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, and centers for hernia, sleep disorders and massage therapy.
