Morton Plant Mease Trinity Outpatient Center Celebrates Decade of Health Services to Community
10/09/2006

10th Anniversary Celebration Includes Free Health Screenings, Safety Demonstrations

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., (October 9, 2006) - Morton Plant Mease’s Trinity Outpatient Center opened its doors in the summer of 1996 and has been serving the health care needs of the West Pasco community ever since. In the last decade there have been more than 300,000 patient visits to Trinity Outpatient Center for cardiac services, radiology testing, outpatient surgery and rehabilitation. On Saturday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Morton Plant Mease Health Care invites the community to celebrate Trinity’s 10th anniversary with free health screenings, safety demonstrations and entertainment.

“It’s a day for the entire family to enjoy and a way for us to give back to the community that for ten years has supported Trinity Outpatient Center not only as an award-winning, premier health care provider, but an invaluable resource for activities including school field trips, support groups and other community meetings,” said John D. Couris, administrator and chief operating officer, Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, who also oversees the Trinity Outpatient Center for Morton Plant Mease.

The 10th anniversary celebration at Trinity Outpatient Center includes free health screenings for arm strength, feet, paraffin wax treatments for hands and “Ask the Doctor” consultations. Additionally there will be a Tai Chi demonstration, chair massages and activities for children including finger casting, face painting and a children’s exercise demonstration by the Trinity branch of the YMCA. Pasco County Commissioner Ann Hildebrand will also be a guest speaker at a ceremony at 10:30 a.m.

In June, Morton Plant Mease announced the construction of a new $7 million, 36,000 square-foot medical office building adjacent to the current Trinity Outpatient Center. Expected to open early next year, the new Trinity medical office building will provide the Trinity Outpatient Center with additional primary care physicians and physicians specializing in health care services including orthopaedics, gastroenterology, pain management, obstetrics and gynecology.

Recognized by Florida Medical Business as having the Best Freestanding Outpatient Services in Tampa Bay for 2001, Morton Plant Mease Trinity Outpatient Center, located at 2102 Trinity Oaks Boulevard, opened to the community on July 11, 1996. The two-story, 48,300-square foot facility, was built on a 66-acre site for approximately $13 million.
