Wound Care
The Morton Plant Mease Wound Care Program provides standardized, clinically effective treatment for problem wounds. Patients who have slow or non-healing wounds can have the problem assessed and treated at one of our two wound care centers, which utilize the latest advanced equipment and procedures in a comfortable, tranquil environment.
Commonly treated wounds include:
- Arterial ulcers
- Diabetic (Neuropathic) ulcerations
- Pressure ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Traumatic injuries
- Venous stasis ulcers
Our therapies include:
- Wound debridement
- Topicals and wound dressings
- Compression therapy
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
- Physical therapy
- VAC (Vacuum-assisted closure)
Other conditions requiring hyperbaric oxygen therapy include:
- Diabetic wounds of the lower extremity
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Clostridial myonecrosis
- Acute traumatic ischemias
- Necrotizing soft tissue infections
- Radiation tissue damage and osteoradionecrosis
- Refractory osteomyelitis
- Skin grafts, flaps and replants
