Mease Dunedin Hospital is a Primary Stroke Center, accredited by The Joint Commission. This achievement signifies that Mease Dunedin's stroke protocols meet the standards of the country's best programs. To qualify, a hospital must demonstrate readiness to deliver stroke care within the first three hours that the event occurs. Doing so can significantly improve recovery and can, in some cases, greatly reduce or eliminate the harmful effects of a stroke.

Mease Dunedin's spine surgery program has also been certified by The Joint Commission. Spinal surgery certification encompasses three distinct procedures, discectomy, laminectomy and spinal fusion. Our certification demonstrates our commitment to a higher standard of service and enhances our ability to recruit staff for this prestigious program, which includes minimally invasive spine surgery.

Mease Dunedin also offers a variety of neurodiagnostic testing to help differentiate neurological conditions from other conditions with similar symptoms.

For more information about the neurosciences services available at Mease Dunedin Hospital or for a free referral to a board-certified neurologist, call (727) 462-7500.
