Transforming for the Future

The Construction Process Begins

Morton Plant Hospital is transforming its campus to help meet future community health care needs. With design goals of efficiency, accessibility, outcomes and patient service, our master facility plan will feature a new patient tower with all private rooms, an additional main entrance and the relocations of surgery, women’s care and orthopedics to focused platforms of care.

The entire Morton Plant Hospital master facility plan is estimated to take more than four years to complete. We began the first steps of this important construction process on October 1, on the east side of the Morton Plant campus, which presently serves the emergency department, day surgery, pre-op testing and imaging. Key components of this first phase include:

  • Emergency patients will now enter through the former day surgery entrance. Look for signage on Pinellas St., Jeffords St. and Reynolds Ave.
  • Day surgery, pre-op testing and imaging patients will now enter through the hospital's main entrance.
  • Valet parking will continue to be available at the new emergency entrance for emergency patients and at the hospital’s main entrance for all other patients and visitors.

As with any construction or renovation project, we anticipate some inconveniences. Our Guest Services team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you. Guest Services is located in the main lobby and any of our team members will be happy to escort you there.

We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we transform our campus to better serve your health care needs. As the construction process continues, we invite you to check back here for updates.
