Patient Stories

Ann
Patient, Morton Plant North Bay

"I came to the ER at Morton Plant North Bay because I was experiencing stroke symptoms. Experiencing a stroke is a scary thing, but I am glad I came to Morton Plant North Bay to help me get through it.

I am a retired registered nurse, so I know what to expect from good nurses. I was very impressed with the nurses at Morton Plant North Bay - from the nurses in the ER to the ones on the telemetry floor. They washed their hands, followed protocols and were very knowledgeable. I never asked a question that one of the nurses didn't know the answer to. They were top of the line!

My nurses also were very personable. I've been a patient at other hospitals where I never saw my nurse. Here, my nurses came into my room several times to ask if I was okay or if I needed anything. I felt like I was getting great care.

I am feeling better now. I hope I never need to go to a hospital again, but if I do, I definitely will come back to Morton Plant North Bay."

Valerie
Patient, Morton Plant North Bay

"Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the nurses who took care of me at Morton Plant North Bay. I came to the hospital to have surgery for lung cancer and later to treat a blood clot. For 11 days, I was a patient at this hospital, and trust me when I say that the nursing care was excellent.

Each nurse took the time to explain what was happening to me. Whether they were giving me medicine or working with a piece of equipment, the nurses always made sure that I understood what they were doing. One nurse even made a chart for me to keep track of my blood levels. They went above and beyond to make sure I knew what was going on with my health care.

If I had a question, my nurse knew the answer. When I rang the bell, they answered quickly. Each nurse was personally interested in my care and paid attention to me and my family. Their personal touch was important to me.

I am cancer-free right now. I am one of the lucky ones. And I feel doubly blessed to be taken care of by such a great team at Morton Plant North Bay."
